Who We Are

The Loongs Cricket Academy (a venture of Loongs Sports & Games Foundation) is an endeavour that set sail in 2002 withthe vision of providing quality scientific systematic cricket coaching throughout the year. It has been grooming thousands of cricket aspirants into fine players, furthermore healthy citizens Located in Thrissur, The academy is one of the first-rated premier cricket coaching centres in Kerala.

An enterprise that began with the broad vision on a mere school ground is now an established acade my providing world class cricketing facilities. The academy houses a green turf ground, indoor floodlights, bowling machines, outdoor nets, sports gym and many other excellent facilities. Beginning with just summer camps, the academy is now at the peak having expanded to daily batches, umpiring coaching, scorers coaching and many more lead by BCCI level 1 coaches and experienced trainers.

Loongs Cricket Academy is a unit of the Trichur District Cricket Association, which is affiliated with the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). The Kerala Cricket Association is a state unit of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

What we offer

Cricket Coaching

Our players, aged between 5-23, are trained and assessed by professional and experienced BCCI Level A Grade coaches following very well-planned and rigorous coaching methods tailored and improvised accordingly to include overall skill, physical health and psychological growth of our players. Loongsees are trained both indoors and outdoors using bowling machines and other equipment that help in identifying and enhancing their skill in bowling, batting, keeping and fielding. Several practise matches are organized to provide the players with on field experience as a team.

Umpires Coaching

Umpiring aspirants above the age of 16 are trained by professional BCCI umpires. They are trained to master the 42 laws of Cricket, have in-depth understanding of the game and develop the ability to make decisions spontaneously. They are also encouraged to maintain a good physical and mental health and are taught to become patient and strong umpires who develop the ability to make clear and fair decisions no matter the circumstances.

Scorers Coaching

Scoring is a technical art of Cricket. Those above the age of 16, interested in learning scoring are guided by experienced scorers. Starting from the basics to the advanced techniques of scoring, the students are taught every skill required by a scorer such as completing scoring record, recognising umpire’s signals and standard scoring symbols.

Coaches Training

A good coach is recognized by their skill to identify, guide and nurture the skill of a player. Anyone above the age of 21 choosing the path of cricket coaching is provided assistance and guidance by our experienced professional coaches. They are taught the techniques and approaches moulding them into skilled cricket coaches. The young coaching aspirants are also provided coaching experience handling basic batches and assisting senior coaches.

Professional / Veterans Cricket

Cricket is a sport with no age limits. We provide opportunities to anyone holding on to the passion for cricket to train and participate in practise matches regardless of age and gender helping them realize their love for the game.

A LOONGS CRICKET SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROGRAM

The Loongs Cricket Academy makes it our responsibility to ensure that quality cricket coaching is made accessible to children of all strata of society. As a motive of social responsibility, Loongs provides free coaching to 20 cricket aspirants coming from poor economic backgrounds. The CAP program also provides students with free kit bags and jerseys.
